A super four hours created this excellent painting of Wisteria with Chinese brushes.
Alan had the opportunity of one to one tuition with me where we practiced mark making with the Chinese brushes and mixing water colours to the correct shade and depth.
Colour mixing for the foliage.
Brush stroke practice
Testing colour for the blossoms.
Alans back ground wash of sky and mountains which was left to dry thoroughly before his lovely foliage and wisteria racemes were added.
Alans painting finished in a mount.(I'm afraid the painting looks paler in this photo than in reality)
My demonstration painting is on the left and observe what Alan has achieved in four hours, by the way I served him copious cups of coffee, home made scones, butter and home made strawberry and gooseberry jam, I wonder if it helped?
