Watercolour painting of my Hellebore

Every year my Hellebores just delight me and I just have to paint their portrait.

Starting with a water colour pencil I draw the hellebore from life on a 425gsm Bockingford rough paper.

I build up each application of watercolour paint as you see here.

The colours I use are lemon yellow, ultramarine blue, burnt sienna and quinacridone magenta.

I hope you enjoy trying this painting for yourself Claire.
