Lots of Lovely Learning.

A Sunday workshop that was supposed to be a European canal scene but after a chat with these ladies we all decided for me to fill these 4 hours with lots of beginners skills and see these results.

Tips covered were:-

  • How to get the shimmer on the sea with candle wax.

  • How a totally horizontal line that tells you sea or water

  • Lifting out colour to make clouds

  • Getting darker and lighter colours using water not white paint

  • Getting into the habit of testing your colour on scrap paper before adding to your painting.

  • My style of painting with the ink and wax and water colour, a dandelion seedhead.

  • They followed my lesson plans to paint the Marigold and the Fuchsia

All with the aid of lots of tea, coffee and home made flap jack and mincemeat flapjack.

I hope I have inspired the beginners amongst you as the lady on the left hadn't painted before,
