Three beautiful Snap dragons that Arthur has grown.
Who could resist painting these gorgeous colours.
Starting with a pure lemon yellow very dilute then building with a more concentrated mix.
The centre flower is Quinacridone magenta and lemon yellow and the next flower is the same mix with a little burnt sienna.
This image is just the flower colours.
This is another painting where the foliage is mixed from lemon yellow, Ultramarine blue and burnt sienna then a very dramatic background is added.
These were painted from life which is a lot easier than photographs.
